    I love the way Thais accept things that are offered by holding out their two cupped hands, as if receiving the world I’m told.
    When they (you) offer a gift, the free hand is always visible, supporting the elbow or the forearm of the outstretched arm. Someone told me this was to show that the donor wasn’t holding a knife behind his back.
    If that’s true, then the old saying regarding Greeks bearing gifts doesn’t apply to Thais. I think that culture reveals the soul of a nation. Ken C
